You know how it’s just time for a refresh?? Gah!! I’ve been feeling the same way about my work office, sometimes you just gotta make old things new, right? Don’t get me wrong, I love my workspace, but it’s been the same for the last five years. Babe, we gotta purge.
As a creative, I have to be surrounded by bright colors, order, and cleanliness. So yes, tons of decluttering had to happen and honestly, this was one of my best creative decisions of 2025! Do you ever just get sick and tired of looking at the same stuff? That was me! Let’s get into the updates:
Let Old Things Be Old
I noticed old memories..beautiful, yes, but outdated..were constantly in my view. Plaques, pictures, drawings… things that weren’t a part of my future. So, I boxed them up and removed that energy from my space.
Purging has such beautiful effects on your subconscious. It’s a sacred release, sis. It’s where you let go of the heaviness you’ve been carrying in silence. When you clear out old clutter, shame, guilt and fear, you actually create space for clarity, peace, and fresh ideas to flow. It’s the boldest move of strength, I gotta tell ya. Because only a woman brave enough to release can rise into her fullest power.
If you struggle with purging, pause and ask yourself these three questions:
-
What am I really afraid of losing? The thing itself, or the identity I’ve built around it? (Ooh, that one stings a bit. But I’m still here with you!)
-
If I let this go, what freedom or possibility could take its place?
-
Does holding onto this align with the woman I’m becoming, or the woman I used to be?
Once you’re solid on those answers and standing ten toes down, only then can you release with confidence, because the future you should excite you more. :) Yayyy!
Shopping by Vibration
Next, it was time to shop. Our favorite part, right?!
So off to HomeGoods I went, not in search of anything specific, just decor that spoke to who I’m becoming. I didn’t judge my selections or try to have the whole layout figured out. I simply allowed myself to flow, to be magnetized toward what tugged at my energy.
I found pictures with butterflies that remind me of transformation, golden candelabras that stand tall—just like me (why shouldn’t they sit behind my shoulders on Zoom calls??). I picked up a cozy blanket that mirrors my bedding at home and tossed her in the cart too. No rhyme, no reason, just intuition. That’s something we all have access to, and intuition only gets stronger when you stop second-guessing and start honoring the whispers of your soul.
Just go for it, girl.

The Re-Design
For the redesign phase, I shifted my desk slightly to the side and let the rug follow. I brought in colorful extra chairs from our conference room and added a tea station too! I kept my flower wall and shelves, but with far less clutter.
Another big shift..I realized it was healthier to display my awards in a different area of our corporate office. Controversial? Maybe. But here’s the truth: having all my awards in constant view kept me in external validation mode. For my personality style, that's dangerous and makes me do weird things in pursuit of it. Having them displayed were very subtle yet substantial ways of chasing the next award (or feeling like I should) instead of being fully present. The energy was very much: perform, achieve, collect..then repeat.
Am I proud? Absolutely. But I don’t need a visual reminder every five seconds of my greatness. That space now holds future-focused positive, affirming artwork and my favorite addition, a lemon tree.
The lemon tree reminds me of the bitter-to-sweet evolution of success; its fruit mirrors the process of turning challenges into wisdom. And the vibrant color? An instant vibration lift. I'm so happy with this space y'all and nothing but a new kind of beauty has evolved from it.

I'll leave you with affirmations to support your purge, let's call them: Pearls of Wisdom
-
When I release, I rise.
-
Clearing space clears my mind.
-
Letting go shows me what I was clinging to.
-
Old energy can’t fuel a new season.
-
I choose alignment over attachment.
-
My intuition is my best shopping list.
-
Planning is fine, but flow is divine.
-
What I’m drawn to reflects who I’m becoming.
-
Trusting my vibe strengthens my voice.
-
Refreshing my space refreshes my spirit.
Sis let's talk:
- What’s the most surprising thing you discovered about yourself after decluttering or purging?
- Do you shop with intuition letting your energy guide you or do you plan every detail in advance?

This was an excellent read for me. I’ve been decluttering each room of my home a little at a time since the new year 2025. It is a release & breath of fresh air to let go!!! Clutter doesn’t allow for clarity, clear visions….Love love the affirmations / Pearls of Wisdom at the end. Thanks Charis
