Hi there!!! Welcome back! Let’s chat about my latest creation, the Nicole Tote. Designing the Nicole Handbag was incredibly personal. After all, she carries my middle name, and with it, a piece of my story. From the very beginning, I knew she had to be more than just a bag—she had to embody strength, resilience, and the beauty of life’s woven journey. I wanted to create a legacy bag, something you’ll have forever and feel incredibly proud to carry. For my design process, it always starts with this question: How do I want you to feel?
The Avatar Behind Nicole
For me, creating with personality in mind first makes it energetically effortless to develop the silhouette, materials, and hardware afterwards. I start with an avatar. For Nicole, the avatar was 47, cinnamon-skinned, with dreads wrapped into a bun on top of her head. She wears super flowy clothes, never misses a Maxwell concert, and she’s been on more cruises than you can count (drink package and upgraded room included, of course). And when she gets back to port? She’s at church on Sunday morning, no questions asked. She’s a jetsetter who stopped watching the news because she’s focused on controlling what she can. She needs simplicity, ease, and pieces designed to support her emotional balance..her happiness. That’s her.
The Shape: Refined Yet Fun
With her in mind, I knew the silhouette had to offer something new. She already has a collection of neverfull totes. What she needed was structure, a bag that could “stand tall” for her while still feeling fuss-free and fancy.
I chose an envelope flap for elegance, layered with a magnetic closure for everyday ease. But because she loves a moment, I designed a golden swivel emblem for grandeur. This original emblem represents life coming full circle, always in motion, just like us. Growing, evolving, overcoming. Every turn is a reminder that what we live through shapes who we are, and that progress, no matter how small, still counts.

Woven With Lessons
The woven technique was intentional. Each crossing thread reminds me of the many lessons interlaced throughout my own life. Just as no single strand holds the pattern alone, our journeys are strengthened by experiences—both challenges and triumphs. Nicole is a living symbol of that truth: bound together, resilient, and beautifully complex. Just like you and me.

I choose genuine leather because I design for legacy, not trends. I need this bag to last you a lifetime. From the straps to the craftsmanship, it’s built for a full human experience. Some materials simply won’t hold up for a grown, grown, grooownnnn woman.
