OUR STORY
I’m Charis Jones, designer of Sassy Jones. This calling found me in 2013 while I was minding my business driving to my corporate job. I heard a radio commercial that called for business owners to participate in a trade show. Well, I was certainly not a business owner but the event sounded like it would be an amazing opportunity, so that got my wheels turning. “What would I do if I gave myself permission to show up for this moment?” And the answer was obvious, accessories.
Baubles, gemstones, accessories and fashion jewelry have been an eponymous ingredient in my life since I was a little girl. From stealing my matriarch's handbags and running off with them since the age of 5 to experiencing the sheer bliss of pulling on my ruffled socks at the age of 6, I’ve carried a deep love for accessories throughout my life.
So the answer was obvious, “I’m going to sell accessories at the show!” There was only one issue. I had no money, all of it was spoken for. However, my dreams were larger than my fears so I sacrificed my car. I sold it for $3200 to pay for the entry fee and purchase inventory.
Knees trembling and without a vehicle, I showed up to that event like a corporate brand with all of the excellence I could muster. Interacting and engaging with women on that day, I learned 2 very important things:
-I could do this forever, I’ve found literal bliss.
-I discovered who my ideal client was.
For the next 3 years, I would repeat that experience wherever I could find an opportunity with a cheap minivan that my husband found for sale. Driving to Florida, Georgia, New York, everywhere that presented a way for me to show up and sell my things, I was there.
Despite birthing twins, despite veering off the interstate from exhaustion twice and despite my outdoor display getting ruined from a tropical storm once in Miami, I showed up relentlessly, repeatedly. I did notice one thing that really bothered me during my stint on the road, everyone was selling very similar things. It all looked alike and that irked me, alot.
As a college dropout, I have no formal training in management, entrepreneurship or design so teaching myself how to design jewelry seemed incredibly daunting. But I was fatigued of seeing all of the same things on the necks of every woman.
Where was the color, the joy, the individuality of style?? Everyone felt safe looking the same.
Determined to break that mold, I went full force into creating and designing the things I saw in my head. And it worked. Big.
Today, Sassy Jones has stunned the fashion world in quite an unconventional & unique way,

- Acquiring membership into the illustrious Young President Organization (YPO).
- Building girls dormitories in Africa and fighting menstrual poverty.
